iROBOT PROCESS DEVELOPMENT
CONCEPT :
The concept was to audit current tools, people, and processes at iRobot to develop a highly functioning and scalable in-house creative team. Workfront project management software was being leveraged, but timelines were not built and it was not clear what needed to happen when within the project process.
DEVELOPMENT :
The development began with evaluating when requests were coming in vs. when the assets needed to be available on the DAM. Then, what type of work was being requested that could bucket into t-shirt sizes with templated milestones and turnaround times.
EXECUTION :
The execution is a clean and simplified scoping mechanism to be able to initiate work quickly and provide increased accuracy in turnaround times.

fig. 2
The current calendar (fig. 1) was evaluated and small shifts were made so that requests can be reviewed before the design team began. The future calendar (fig. 2) also allowed for a better turnaround time before work was reviewed. Additionally, agendas were added to increase meeting
fig. 3
T-shirt sizes (fig. 3) were developed by evaluating number of deliverables, type of deliverables, phases needed to be able to deliver, and resourcing.
fig. 4
T-shirt size turnaround times were established by outlining each step required to take a request from kickoff to completion, and adding estimated time for each step (fig. 4). Turnaround times were developed into templates that auto populated based on selected t-shirt size.
